A Mermaid Chart alternative that maps the call while it happens
Mermaid Chart (now at mermaid.ai) builds diagram-as-code from a prompt, a document, or code. Wavelength builds a process map from a live conversation, and it copies the result as Mermaid code. This page lists the facts about both.

The short answer
- Mermaid Chart is a diagram-as-code tool with an AI that reads a prompt, a document, or a pasted meeting transcript. The diagram renders in GitHub, VS Code, and Confluence.
- Wavelength listens to the call and draws the process map while people talk. You can copy any flow as Mermaid, so the diagram can still live next to the code.

Where each tool is strong
Mermaid Chart writes native Mermaid code in more than 15 diagram types, and it has an MCP server. If your team keeps every diagram in a repository as code, that is its strength.
Where Wavelength fits
A transcript upload happens after the call, so the customer is not there to correct the map. Wavelength draws during the call. The customer sees a wrong step and says so, and the map changes before the call ends. Then copy the flow as Mermaid, and it goes into the repository like any other diagram.
See transcript to flowchart and the Chrome side panel for the two ways to start.
Common questions
Can Mermaid Chart make a diagram from a meeting?
Yes, from a transcript. Its AI page says you can upload a meeting transcript. The site does not mention audio or a live call. Wavelength draws from the live call, or from the transcript after it.
Does Wavelength export Mermaid?
Yes. Copy any flow as Mermaid code on every plan. Wavelength also imports Mermaid code, so you can bring diagrams in.
How much does Mermaid Chart cost?
