An alert fires in PagerDuty and pages the on-call engineer. The on-call engineer triages the alert. If the severity is high, an incident commander is assigned. If the severity is low, the engineer fixes it directly. The incident commander updates the status page. The fix is applied and verified. After the incident, the team writes a postmortem.
