Stripe billing data to a data warehouse diagram

This is a worked example. Wavelength built the diagram below from the description on this page. Nobody drew it by hand.

What was said

Customers subscribe through Stripe Checkout. Stripe creates the subscription and sends a webhook to our billing service. The billing service provisions the account in Postgres. If a payment fails, Stripe retries the card and the customer success team gets an alert. Stripe data lands in Snowflake through Stripe Data Pipeline, and finance reports monthly recurring revenue in Sigma.

What is in this flow

  • Systems: Stripe Checkout, Stripe, Billing Service, Stripe Data Pipeline and Sigma.
  • Data stores: Postgres and Snowflake.
  • People and teams: Customer Success Team and Finance.
  • Decisions: Payment Failed?.
  • Size: 11 steps and 10 connections.

Questions to confirm

The AI inferred these links. On a real call, you ask the customer to confirm them.

  • Does Stripe payment fails? Payment Failed??
